Not Such a Mundane Day
**You can listen to this post on my podcast here.
On the days when it feels no spiritual gains were made,
or it feels God is silent, much is actually happening.
God’s mercies and compassions were new and full to the brim that morning, and
His lovingkindness was already in place.
As we brushed our hair, God had already numbered them.
Our day was unloading with a bounty of blessings, as God had promised.
Our very breath and soul were quietly
being sustained by His hand.
Our day was blessed by the presence of God,
as He said He would never leave us.
He was thinking of us with thoughts of peace, even rejoicing over us.
While we had sin present, God’s everlasting love never ceased.
He even put upon us a crown of lovingkindness and mercy.
His grace never failed us once on that day,
as it was always present and abounding.
We were even the
apple of His eye.
It was another day where the safety of our eternal soul was wrapped tightly in the
hand of not only Jesus, but of the Holy Spirit and the Almighty God.
On that mundane day,
Jesus was preparing a mansion for us,
while at the same time interceding for us continually
so we could access the throne of grace.
God faithfully was guiding us that day, as He said He
would be with us unto the end of the world.
On this mundane day, God never slept, but rather His eyes were upon us, while
His ears were open to our cry.
Even on the most mundane days,
all of these exciting things
are happening without fail.
Even if God is silent,
He is always working.
And His work is always good.
Thus we can say…
This is the day which the Lord hath made,
we shall rejoice and be glad in it.
The proof, in order of appearance…
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
