Within His Reach
**You can listen to this post on my podcast here.
I was looking at the people driving passed me and those walking down the street
and thought how different we were from each other.
Different in culture.
Different in lifestyle.
Different in the role God has in our lives.
As I prayed for them, I became discouraged as I wondered if my prayer was effective.
Was there a distance between them, God, and my prayer for them? A gap?
But then God reminded me that by Him all things consist.
That my prayer is not hindered by any kind of distance between Him and the stranger.
The same God that holds my breath
in His hand, holds their breath.
The same eyes that watch me on this earth, also see these people that seem spiritually so far from Him.
God was encouraging me that I should keep praying for these strangers and not be discouraged by
our differences, because from His point of view, He is very near to them.
God impressed on me that they may be far from Him, but He knows exactly where they are and what they are doing.
They may not be thinking of the Savior,
but God’s remembrance of the sacrifice He
lovingly made for them is ever before Him.
I love how God takes the time to help us see with the eyes of Jesus.
He continues to impress upon us that with Him there are no boundaries.
He can enter any heart and can persuade any person.
God was reminding me that although He is not in all of their thoughts
and they may not be seeking Him, they are in His thoughts and He is pursuing them.
God has not distanced Himself from them, but rather loves them deeply,
is actively demonstrating longsuffering toward them, and is not willing that they should perish.
He is near to them, which means
my prayer is near to them.
I will keep praying for these strangers that are out of my reach, because they are in His reach.
